Formal June Beach Wedding in Southern California…?
I was invited to a formal beach wedding this summer, my date is wearing him class a uniform (army greens) and the bride is wearing this stunning ball gown, its crazy how nice it is, and I have to meet his whole family, what do I wear?
Please help, thanks a ton…
Talk to the bride ask what shes wanting people to wear. Id say a white formal gown. Since its a So Cal wedding you really need someone to ask her if you have not met her yet, she could have all her gfs showing up in beach type colors and apparal, like from a Hawaiian Store. She might want totally formal with subdoed patterns and colors, she might wnat formal but light colored summer formal dresses for the women. Pick a color to go with this uniform so your pictures are awesome!!!!! If she wants Hawaiian
is it on the sand *so you know what kind of shoes for the wedding, and maybe spares in the car for the reception which might be at a formal resturant in the area or even on a dinning ship in one of the harbors. It will be fun no matter what!! Spring / Summer arent online just yet where I was going to put links, so this one is for styles.
anyone know of a place i could get a wedding gown or even just a white nice dress to wear on the beach?
is it a bad idea to re-new our vows…sorta like a second wedding?
My husband and I have been married 7 years in june. over the 7 years we had many struggles due to fertility issues and family issues. Over that period of time we both gained an excessive amount of weight. He is dieting and doing extremly well and i recently had a gastric bypass. I was considering some time next year when we get to our goal weights of having a second wedding, like re-newing our vows and including our two precious sons. I’m afraid what people may think being that we’ve only been married 7 years. I think it would a perfect way to start our new, by renewing what brought us together. I don’t want anything really showy… A nice ivory beach gown with a ceramony at the place he proposed and a little dinner at our house after………….
Whats your opinion/ suggestion
go for it. it sounds wonderful. sadly, 7 years is a long time by today’s standards, so you have every reason to celebrate.
What to wear to a fall beach wedding?
I (female, 26) was recently invited to a beach wedding at a nice hotel on Singer Island in South Florida. It is the first Saturday in Novemeber, so it can be considered a ‘Fall’ wedding as well. It is scheduled to begin at 5pm, so it is an evening/night event. The wedding invitation is in ‘Lilly Pulitizer’ style colors (bright pink and green) with palm trees. I’ve been told that the attire is ‘Beach Semi-Formal’ and that men can “wear slack/button down shirts” (nothing mentioned about ties or jackets) and women can “wear a nice dress but nothing too fancy.” I have no idea what to wear because ‘beach’ and ‘fall’ seem to indicate completely different types of wedding attire.
1) Do I wear a long or short (cocktail) length dress? The ceremony is on a sandy beach so I thought cocktail length might be best. But then again, it’s Fall, in the evening, and at a nice hotel so I’m not sure if a floor length gown would be more apropriate. Long or Short?
2) What color? I initially thought bright, vibrant colors would be good for a beach wedding in tropical South Florida. But again, the event is on a Fall evening so maybe dark colors would be better. Bright or Dark Colors?
Thanks so much for your help!
Beaches in Florida tend to be extremely windy, keep that in mind when you put on a dress, you don’t want something that’s going to fly up and show everything. The sand also makes it harder to walk in longer clothing.
I would go with a “medium” length dress like a sun dress, one that goes to your knees at least, it would be easier to control if the wind picks up and it won’t be too hot or too cold (seeing as the weather in Florida is unpredictable). Bring two pairs of shoes, flip flops for the beach (so you can kick the sand out and wash your feet more easily) and a pair you want to wear to the reception. I agree with the bright colors.
If you aren’t sure then you could always bring another dress to change into for the reception or ask the Bride what she thinks, I bet she could give you the best advice.
Where can I find a Hippie wedding gown?
I am getting mariied sometime this summer on the beach in Maryland. I want it be all natural; no shoes, flowers in my hair, etc. I just need to find the persect dress. something flowing and beautiful, hopefully made of organic fibers. But also nothing to crazy pricey because our budget is kind of tight. Any ideas on where I could find a nice Earth Goddess type gown/ dress?
