I am leaning toward a hefty wad of cash as a gift for a wedding in which I am the best man. The newlyweds will be paying for the entire wedding themselves, so I figure money will help. Does such a gift seem insensitive or impersonal?

I have two extremely important people in my life….My dad and my uncle who is only 2 years older than me and we have been much more like brothers our whole lives. I wanted my uncle but everyone says it should be my dad. Then I had a lady at my office say she’s NEVER heard of the dad being the best man. Every wedding I have ever gone to (about 5 in my life) the father was the best man except for one whose father was deceased.

Parent’s aren’t traditionally the maids or groomsmen. They walk their children down the aisle. I’m not a huge believer in traditional weddings though, so do what you want. If I were in your situation, I would pick my uncle, and have my father walk me down.

If he is newly married it probably means nothing. Most newly weds will play with their ring on their finger cause they arent used to it yet.
If he has been married a long time he could be trying to show the woman he is married or he is nervous.

I know traditionally here in Australia, a man wears wedding ring on left hand. Can a man wear another ring on the same finger but on the other hand? Or that finger on both hands at same time?
